Prisoner Escape Trail

Did you know that Eden Camp used to be a Prisoner of War camp that held Italian and Germans captured in WW2? We’re stepping back in time and making you the prisoner and there’s only one way to escape – complete Prisoner Escape Trail and get your pass to freedom!

Traditional Wartime Games

Our wartime games proved so popular last time out that they’re back! Visitors both young and old will be able to try their hand at a range of traditional games including skipping, marbles, skittles, hopscotch and quoits.

Dressing Up Box

Lots of fun military themed clothing to try on.


Talks on a range of topics including Life as a POW and the ARP Warden.

Special Events

Wednesday 1st August – We’ll be marking Yorkshire Day with presentations on the origins of the day and a very loud visit from the Malton Town Crier.

Tuesday 7th August – Minster FM Summer Roadshow – The roadshow will be on site from 10am – 2pm with games and competitions on their Summer of Selfies Tour. More information here.

WW2 Living History – WW2 Living History Bank Holiday Weekend – All visitors welcome to come dressed in period costume, more information here.

All this and over 30 huts of social and military history to explore, all set in the buildings and grounds of on original WW2 Prisoner of War Camp. Dog friendly. Winstan’s Bunker Cafe, gift shop and ample free parking. A great value day out for all the family.
