KOREAN VETERANS PARADE DAY 29/04/01In conjunction with the North East area Branches of the British Korean Veterans Association (BKVA), we will be hosting a Korean Veteran's Parade on Sunday 29th April 2001.
All Veterans of the Korean War and their partners are welcome to visit the Museum as our guests, free of charge on that day from 10.00am to 5.00pm.
The parade will commence at 11.00am and the inspection and salute will be taken by the National President of the BKVA, Major General A.C. Birtwistle, CB., CBE., DL., MA. April 2001 marks the 50th Anniversary of one of the most desperate and better known actions of the Korean War in which British troops were involved - The Battle of the River Imjin.
The Kirkbymoorside Town Brass Band will be leading the parade and accompanying the service, which will be led by the Rev. Timothy L. Jones BS.Hons Oxon, Chaplain to the Durham & Cleveland Branch BKVA.
