28th February 1997
EDEN CAMP OPEN FOR 1997
EDEN CAMP has opened for the 1997 season and we anticipate another record year with bookings the strongest they have ever been and visitors to date are in excess of the same period last year.
1996 was a successful year with over 259,000 visitors coming to the camp. A notable highlight of 1996 was the opening of Hut 4, in which we have built a terraced house and back yard that the visitor walks through to experience a street at war.
We also received yet another award, "The White Rose Tourism for All Award" from the Yorkshire & Humberside Tourist Board 1996, which we also won in 1995.
1997 will, we believe, see the museum move forward in leaps and bounds. Hut 9 and Hut 7, along with hut 18 have all had major changes made for the new season.
We have increased our discount scheme that we ran last year between the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, the Sealife Centre and ourselves to also include the York Dungeon. So, whichever of the attractions your visitor goes first, they will receive discount vouchers offering money savings on the other three.
If you require any further information do not hesitate to contact the museum.
