GREEN HOWARDS REMEMBRANCE SERVICE

On 10st September 1995 we are hosting, in conjunction with the Green Howards Association, a Service of Remembrance and Dedication of the 50th Anniversary of the Cessation of Hostilities.

Over 500 members are expected from the Green Howards Association along with over 600 from the Coastal Forces, 8th Army, 1st Army, Dunkirk, Normandy, Italy Star, H.M. Rescue Tugs, Humberside R.N.V.R., Royal Naval, Combined Service, Monte Cassino, Biritish Legion etc., Veterans Associations.

The museum will be open free to veterans on the day from 10.00am to 5.00ph, the service will be held at 2.30pm. There will be a parade to and from our memorial which will be accompanied by the band. The parade will include standards and wreathes will be laid. After the service a short dedication service will take place in our Chapel of Remembrance.

Throughout the weekend the Royal Signals Amateur Radio Society will be manning a special event station and the public will be able to watch and hear worldwide communications.
