1992 A GREAT SEASON
Eden Camp is up in the clouds yet again having experienced another record breaking season!
Despite all the usual doom, gloom and depression, we are pleased to announce that the Yorkshire and Humberside's Visitor Attraction of the Year 1992 is approximately 30% up on last years endeavours.
To further enhance our sucessful Museum, we are proud to announce the opening of yet another hut, Hut number 26! This newest hut continues the theme of "A Museum within a Museum" covering more the military and Political events of 1942. Included are Malta, Dieppe, Tobruk, as well as many other major events of fifty years ago.
Special displays have been dedicated to No. 4 Group Bomber Command and 158 Squadron who flew out of the local Yorkshire Airfields. To enhance their commemoration, a 14 cylinder radial, Bristol Hercules engine as used in the Halifax bombers, is on display, along with 37.5 litres of V12 Rolls Royce Spitfire Engine.
The centre piece is where we transport you up to 10,000 feet in the air in the rear gun turret of a Halifax bomber. The mission over enemy territory is a bombing raid, Flak, ack ack, diving fighter planes, tracers, pathfinders flares, even the smells transport you back in time.
Please do not hesitate to contact the Museum if you require any further details.
