NORMANDY VETERANS REMEMBER
On Friday, 27th May 1994 at 11am a group of Normandy Veterans who participated in D-Day, will be gathering on the beach at Scarborough South Bay, to witness the launching of our newly refurbished 1944 D.U.K.W. (DUCK!).
By kind permission of the council, we shall be on the beach opposite The Futurist Theatre.
The D.U.K.W. was a unique vehicle and played a major part in the operations. Numerous amphibian vehicles have been developed since but non have matched the seaworthiness and versatility of the DUCK.
The Veterans who will be attending are from, The Normandy Veterans Association, His Majesty's Rescue Tugs Association, The Combined Services Association and The Green Howards Association.
