Press Release Eden Camp: |
18th March 1992
OPEN FOR 1992 SEASON
Eden Camp opened for its sixth season on 14th February 1992 and already in this short time we are breaking last years attendance figures. February being 162% up on the same period in 1991. Whilst 1992's figures were not vastly increased on 1990's the overall turnover of the Camp increased by 25%. This is attributed to the visitor spending more time on the site. Since the opening in 1987 the huts housing exhibits have doubled and the overall appearance and professionalism has improved ten fold!!!
Eden Camp is being acknowledged by our visitors as one of the best Museums in the Country.
We believe in value for money and have maintained our entrance fee as last year, £3.00 for Adults and £2.00 for Senior Citizens and Children. Our Prisoners Canteen offers a variety of meals, the most expensive of which, "Dambuster Stew and Dumplings" costs only £3.25. The average visit is taking around three hours and the age range of visitors is right across the board.
We are not just another Museum with rows and rows of glass cases, we are a living experience with something for all the family and all ages.
New facilities for 1992 include the total rebuild of the Junior Assault course, a project that has not left much change out of £40,000.00 along with the completion of our Prefab, detailing the living conditions of what was home for many after the war years.
Please do not hesitate to contact the Museum if you require any further details.
