PARADE DAY A GREAT SUCCESS
September 13, 1998, was the sixth Eden Camp annual Veterans Day Parade.
This years service had in excess of 2,000 veterans and their families in attendance, the greatest number to date. Approximately 1,000 veterans marched to the memorial and 85 standards took part.
The day was exceptional and one could not fail to be moved by such an impressive, well turned out gathering.
The following associations were amongst those present;
Green Howards, Royal British Legion, Royal Artillery, Burma Star, Fellowship of the Services, Normandy Veterans, Parachute Regiment, Italy Star, Eighth Army Veterans, 1st Army Veterans, 166 Squadron, Royal Signals, Royal Corps of Transport, Coastal Forces, Dunkirk Veterans, Womens Royal Army Corps, Royal Naval, HM Rescue Tugs, Fleet Air Arm, Durham Light Infantry, Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers, ATS, Royal Air Force, Royal Signals, Womens Royal Naval Service, Royal Army Service Corps, Korean Veterans, Monte Cassino Veterans, Combined Services, Womens Land Army, HMS Ganges, Bevin Boys, Federation of Allied Combatance in Europe, White Ensign, Algerines, Commandos, Royal Marines, Royal Naval Patrol, 158 Squadron, Air Training Corps, SSAFA.
Next years' parade will be held on Sunday 12 September 1999, the format and timings will be similar as per this year.
