Press Release Eden Camp: |
15th August 1994
NORMANDY VETERANS ASSOCIATION
On 3rd September 1994 over 800 veterans from the Normandy Campaigns will be visiting Eden Camp, to dedicate and officially open Hut 28. The veterans are coming from branches throughout the country and from other associations.
The Swinton band along with over fifteen standards, will lead a parade to our memorial, where a service of remembrance and dedication will be held at 2.30pm.
There has been much said about D-Day this year, but as such that was only the start of a long campaign. It was to be a further eleven months before the war in Europe would finally be over.
Hut 28 opened to the public earlier this year and is dedicated to covering the exploits of these brave men and their comrades who did not return.
Please do not hesitate to contact the Museum if you require any further details.
