MEMORIAL DEDICATION
On 23rd May 1993 at 2.30pm a service will be dedicated by the Reverand John Manchester of Old Malton Parish, to dedicate a Memorial to honour the courage, fortitude and sacrifice of the people who served in all walks of life during the Second World War.
Local associations and dignitaries will be present and the Swinton Band will be accompanying the hymns. During the proceedings, wreathes will be laid by the British Legion and the Green Howards Association.
The construction of the Memorial is a halfway point to the final completion of the Museum. The Museum first opened to the public on 21st March 1987 and has progressed yearly, going from strength to strength reaching a standard recognised by the tourism authorities who voted it as Yorkshire & Humberside Visitor Attraction of the Year 1992.
