AWARD WINNING MUSEUM EXCELS AGAIN
We are delighted to announce that EDEN CAMP MODERN HISTORY THEME MUSEUM has won the English Tourist Boards 1998 England for Excellence Award in the category of Visitor Attraction of the Year (over 50,000 admissions).
The awards ceremony took place on Thursday 5 November at the Millennium Conference Centre, Harrington Gardens, London.
It goes It goes without saying that we are over the moon with this announcement. At long last we have received the national recognition that we feel we deserve after twelve years of hard work. We continually strive for excellence and are always trying to improve our standards and facilities. The Regional White Rose awards acknowledge this fact and offer encouragement.
When Stan Johnson first conceived the idea of the museum and began putting it together he said he wanted to dedicate it
" As a tribute to all the people who served during the Second World War from the school children, to the people in the home, the factories, and all branches of the services."
We refer to the period as the Peoples War and we continually strive to ensure that we are the Peoples Museum, accessible to all.
We have to survive against all odds with massive handouts being given to our competitors. Despite this we carry on, going from strength to strength, giving value for money.
We would like to say a big thank you to all those who have supported and spread the word for us, and provided us with the information, inspiration and items for display.
Please do not hesitate to contact the museum if you require any further details.
