HIS MAJESTY'S RESCUE TUGS. (HMRT)
On 11th June 1994 the above association will be visiting Eden Camp to remember their comrades and to commemorate the opening of an exhibit dedicated to their past efforts!
HMRT where responsible for two of the major operations that enabled the success of D-Day to be maintained, namely:-
The laying of the undersea pipeline code named PLUTO and the towing and positioning of the Mullberry Harbours. Both significant contributions to the war effort.
There will be a dedication service at 11am conducted by the Reverand John Manchester.
The display consists of an excellent collection of photographs and memorabilia.
Thousands of tons of shipping were saved by the dedicated action of the lads of HMRT.
